Understanding the purpose of music video  Introduction For this assignment I will be discussing in detail how people consume music videos and where in todays generation.Along with how music videos are used to increase the income for the recored company and finally how music videos are used to promote. Where do people watch/consume music video today? How has this changed over the past years? (discuss music tv channels, DVD and internet nowadays media products have become much easier to consume due to the expansion of technology over the years.this has lead to easier access of music videos. The most popular places people watch and consume music videos nowadays would be youtube,vevo,soundcloud and spotify the platforms have made consuming music a lot more easier than ever due to the fact that anyone can access and get the hands on music a lot more easier than ever. music consumption has changed over the years as technology has evolved as back in the day we use to consume music

                                               what I have learnt in Media one of the first things I haver learnt during media is what genre means genre in  French is type. Genre is used to categorise different movie into categorise to make it easier for the audience to consume. we did this within Michael Jacksons thriller and we learnt what iconography is within thriller and iconography is what  the audience expects in a typical hip hop music video or sci-fi movie e.g in thriller was a thriller and the iconography with it was murder, Death, supernatural beings.
